Feng Shui for Your New Home
You bought the house. Before you decorate it, understand it.
Moving into a new home is more than changing your address.
It's the beginning of a relationship between you, your family, and the environment that will hold the next chapter of your life.
Most homeowners begin with paint colors, furniture, renovations and décor.
I invite my clients to begin somewhere different:
With the energy of the home itself.
Every home has its own energetic blueprint. Understanding that blueprint allows us to make intentional choices about your space based not only on what looks beautiful—but on how you want your home to support the life you're creating within it.

Before You Ask What Your New Home Should Look Like…
Ask what you want your new home to support.
What do you want this chapter to feel like?
-
More financially abundant?
-
Healthier?
-
More peaceful?
-
A stronger relationship?
-
New career opportunities?
-
A place where your family thrives?
-
A true sanctuary?
-
A fresh start?
These are the conversations I want to have before we begin talking about Feng Shui recommendations.
Because your new home isn't simply a collection of rooms.
It's the environment in which your next chapter is going to unfold.
Why Begin Feng Shui Before You Move In?
You don't have to complete Feng Shui before moving into your new home.
But if you have the opportunity to begin the process early, it can be incredibly valuable.
Think about how many decisions happen immediately after buying a house:
-
Paint colors.
-
Furniture.
-
Bedrooms.
-
Home offices.
-
Renovations.
-
Lighting.
-
Artwork.
-
Décor
-
Landscaping.
Where everything goes.
Before investing time and money making all of those decisions, why not first understand the home?
Feng Shui gives us another layer of information to consider alongside your personal style and design preferences.
It isn't about creating a home that looks like Feng Shui.
It's about creating a home that is intentionally aligned for you.

Your New Home Already Has a Story
Even though the home is new to you, the energy of the property didn't begin on closing day.
Your home has its own history, environment, orientation, layout and energetic characteristics.
And you're bringing another important layer into it:
You.
-
Your family.
-
Your intentions.
-
Your relationships.
-
Your goals.
-
Your current season of life.
That's why personalized Feng Shui isn't one-size-fits-all.
Two families could purchase identical houses and have completely different needs.
We're not simply Feng Shui-ing a floor plan.
We're looking at the relationship between the home and the people who will live there.
Is Your New Home Good for Money? Is It Good for People?
This is one of my favorite concepts to introduce to new homeowners.
Ask yourself:
Since moving—or while spending time in your new home—how does the house feel?
-
Does it feel supportive?
-
Can you imagine yourself thriving there?
-
What do you want your financial life to look like in this home?
-
How do you want relationships to feel?
-
How do you want your family to experience the space?
My House Type Exercise introduces clients to the concept of looking at a home through the lens of both money and people.
These questions can provide interesting clues, but they don't determine the actual energetic nature of your home. That requires a deeper personalized analysis.
That's where your home's energetic blueprint begins to reveal itself.
Clear the Old Before Calling in the New
Before filling your new home with your belongings, I encourage you to intentionally clear and prepare the space.
This is especially meaningful when you're moving into a home that has previously been occupied.
It creates an opportunity to acknowledge:
This is our home now.
You're not simply moving boxes into someone else's former space.
You're intentionally beginning a new chapter.
Space clearing, physical clearing, decluttering and setting intentions can all become part of preparing the home before—or shortly after—you move in.
Your physical environment matters too. My existing Feng Shui guidance emphasizes decluttering before implementing Feng Shui and starting small to encourage chi to flow more easily through the home.

Begin With Intention
Before we discuss remedies, enhancements or colors, I want you to know something much more important:
What do you want?
-
Not what Pinterest says your living room should look like.
-
Not what color is trending.
-
What do you want this home to represent?
-
How do you want to feel when you walk through the door?
-
What would you love to experience while living here?
-
What are you ready to leave behind?
-
What are you ready to welcome in?
Your Feng Shui journey begins with intention.
Your existing materials emphasize getting clear about your goals, writing down your intentions, visualizing the result and approaching those intentions with the right motivation.
That's particularly powerful when you're standing at the beginning of a new chapter.
Personalized Feng Shui Goes Beyond Decorating
Growth
There's a misconception that Feng Shui means moving furniture around until the room feels better.
My work goes much deeper.
I use traditional Feng Shui principles to analyze multiple layers of information about your individual home.
Feng Shui works with chi—the energy flowing in and around the home—with the intention of creating an environment that supports your life, relationships, opportunities and well-being. I often describe the practice as acupuncture for your home.
Once we understand your particular home, we can begin identifying what it needs.
This is why I don't believe in generic Feng Shui remedies.
Your new home deserves its own analysis.

Feng Shui + Interior Design Can Work Beautifully Together
You don't have to choose between creating a gorgeous home and creating an energetically aligned one.
I want you to have both.
Interior design considers aesthetics, function, materials, furniture, proportion, and personal style.
Feng Shui introduces another layer:
-
How is the home energetically supporting the people who live there?
If you're already working with an interior designer, architect, or other design professional, your personalized Feng Shui recommendations can become another consideration as your new home comes together.
The goal isn't for someone to walk into your house and say:
“Oh, you've Feng Shui'd this.”
I want them to walk in and say:
“I don't know what it is about your home, but it feels amazing in here.”
That's alignment.
When Should I Start Feng Shui for My New Home?

✔️ Before Closing – If you're already under contract, we can begin discussing your home, your goals and the information I'll eventually need.
✔️ Before Moving In – This can be an ideal opportunity for space clearing, intention setting and beginning the deeper analysis of your home.
✔️ During Renovations – If you're planning changes, involving Feng Shui earlier allows you to consider the home's energy before every major decision has already been made.
✔️ After Moving In–
Already surrounded by boxes?
You're not too late.
Feng Shui isn't something you have to complete before moving day. We simply begin with where you are now.
✔️ Years After Moving In –
A “new home” doesn't have an expiration date.
If you moved in and never felt completely settled—or life has changed significantly since then—we can still look at your home with fresh eyes.

What Happens When We Work Together?
My personalized Feng Shui process is designed to help you understand your home rather than simply hand you a list of things to change.
Depending on the service you choose, our work may include an analysis of your home's energetic blueprint, personalized recommendations, individual considerations for family members, priority areas, education, consultations and guidance as you begin implementing your alignment.
And you don't need to understand Feng Shui before we start.
That's my job.
Your job is to tell me about your home, your life and what you're ready to create next.
New Home Feng Shui — Frequently Asked Questions

✔️ Should I Feng Shui my house before moving in? – If possible, beginning before you move can give you an opportunity to understand your home before making many decorating and furnishing decisions. But it isn't required. Feng Shui can begin at any point.
✔️ Should I space-clear a house before moving in?– I encourage new homeowners to intentionally prepare their new environment, particularly when someone else has previously lived there. Space clearing can become part of marking the transition and setting intentions for your new chapter.
✔️ Should I buy furniture before having my Feng Shui consultation? – You certainly can, but if you're planning significant purchases or changes, you may benefit from beginning the Feng Shui process first.
✔️ Can Feng Shui help me choose colors? – Color can be part of personalized Feng Shui recommendations, but I don't recommend colors based simply on generic directional rules. I first want to understand the individual home.
✔️ Do I need my floor plan?– For a detailed personalized home analysis, I'll explain exactly what information I need about your property during the onboarding process.
✔️ Can you work with my interior designer? – Yes. Feng Shui and interior design can complement one another beautifully because we're looking at different layers of the home.
✔️ What if I've already moved in? – Perfect. We'll start exactly where you are. You don't have to have an empty home or complete Feng Shui before moving day.
✔️ Can you do new-home Feng Shui virtually? – Yes. Personalized Feng Shui can be completed virtually, which allows me to work with homeowners regardless of where they live. Depending on location, scope and availability, select in-person services may also be available.

Your New Home Is the Beginning of Something
There will never be another moment quite like this one.
The boxes will eventually disappear.
The walls will be painted.
The furniture will find its place.
The house will slowly begin to feel like yours.
But before life fills every corner of it, you have an extraordinary opportunity:
Decide what you want this home to hold.
-
Peace.
-
Abundance.
-
Love.
-
Health.
-
Opportunity.
-
Connection.
-
Growth.
Whatever this next chapter means to you, let's create a home that supports it.
