Hi, my name is Adrienne (Addie), and I’ve come to realize—I’m a tough girl! For as long as I can remember, I’ve taken pride in my independence and resilience. But I’ve also started to question: Does being strong mean doing everything alone? If you’re like me, maybe it’s time we rethink what true strength looks like.
My Definition:
“Tough Girl Syndrome” stems from societal expectations or personal beliefs about strength and competence.
I’ve been reflecting on the fine line between strength and self-imposed isolation, and I’ve come to recognize what I call Tough Girl Syndrome—the tendency to equate self-reliance with never asking for help, even when we need it most. As we move through 2025, I believe it’s time to redefine true strength. It’s not just about standing on our own but also about allowing ourselves to be supported.
Vulnerability isn’t a flaw; it’s a gateway to personal growth, deeper connections, and a more balanced life.
A Hard Lesson: Even the Feng Shui Expert Needs Feng Shui
I know firsthand how easy it is to fall into this pattern. While I spend my days crafting detailed Feng Shui reports for my clients, ensuring their spaces fully support their goals, I recently realized I had neglected my own space, my little haven in Bali. I had been so focused on helping others I have not even put my remedies in place—especially in the Northwest area, the sector of Helpful People & Travel. And let me tell you, I am feeling it!
It became clear that while I know I need help in certain areas—whether it’s pet sitting, moving, helping to fix my scooter, or even tech support—I had not taken action yet this week to set myself up energetically to receive it.

A Painful Reminder: I Should Have Asked for Help
I learned the hard way on Wednesday coming back from my Waterfall Wednesday day trip. I knew I needed help fixing my scooter’s navigation system, but instead of asking someone for assistance, I stubbornly decided to ride home while holding my phone in my left hand for directions. This impaired my ability to use the left brake properly, and before I knew it I couldn't brake when I went over a huge pothole, and my eight-month-old puppy, BB, and I were thrown off the scooter.
Thankfully, BB is okay. I have a broken collar bone, I will be in an arm brace for a month and will be immobile for a while. My injuries will heal, I am grateful for things not being worse, grateful that I will not need surgery, and grateful that BB is okay. However, this situation with my body is not good, and this accident could have been avoided altogether.
At that moment, it didn’t matter whether my Feng Shui remedies were in place or not—because I still refused to ask for help. That was my wake-up call: Tough Girl Syndrome isn’t just about struggling in silence—it can have real, tangible consequences.
The Easiest Cure? Let Your Home Ask for Help for You!
If you’re a tough girl like me and hate asking for help, the simplest solution is to let your house do it for you!
Feng Shui isn’t just about moving furniture—it’s about aligning your space to energetically support your needs. The key to overcoming Tough Girl Syndrome isn’t just about mindset—it’s about having your home support you, not work against you.
The first Step? Find out exactly where your life areas are in your home. Every home is unique. Not every home faces perfectly north, south, east, or west, and generic Feng Shui advice won’t always align with your specific space. That’s why it’s essential to get a personalized reading.
Send me Your Floor Plan, and I’ll provide an accurate analysis—not only for your directions but for the precise placement of your remedies, crystals, deities, and enhancements to ensure you receive full Feng Shui support. When your home is aligned with your energy and goals, life flows easier, and help arrives when you need it—without struggle.
In the meantime invite more assistance and guidance into your life, enhance your Northwest sector with:
Symbols of Assistance – Display photos of mentors, angels, or people who have helped you in the past.
A Request Box – Place a decorative box in this area where you write down what you need help with. (This small act sets a powerful intention!)
And most importantly—express what you need. So many of us suffer in silence, assuming people should just “know” what we need. But clarity is key—both in your home’s energy and in your communication.

Strength in Support
Seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it’s an acknowledgment of our shared human experience. Studies show that asking for assistance reduces stress, deepens relationships, and fosters a sense of community. And when we set up our homes to energetically support us, we reinforce the idea that life flows more easily when we allow help.
As we continue through 2025, let’s redefine resilience—not as doing everything alone, but as knowing when to stand strong and when to let others stand beside us. By shifting both our mindset and our space, we create a life where support is always available when we need it.
Your environment has the power to work for you or against you. Let’s make sure your home is doing the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.
